Vaiva and Thea
Hi, and welcome to the Raising Little Travellers blog!
My name is Vaiva, and I am the founder of this mom & daughter travel and exploration blog. I was born in Latvia, grew up in Lithuania, and have lived, studied, and worked in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. I love traveling and especially living abroad.
For some reason, I love and have always been fascinated by China. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to live in Beijing for four years. During this time, I traveled extensively within the country, picked up enough Mandarin Chinese to get myself in and out of trouble, and published a China travel guide.
My daughter Thea was born in China, started to walk and talk in Singapore, and a tooth fairy visited her for the first time in India.
Currently, we call New Delhi home. Here, we count holy cows on the way to school, eat samosas and participate in one-of-a-kind Indian festivals.
We explore India and destinations near and far for fun, safe and exciting things for kids to see and experience. Thea says what she loves in each destination and what she recommends to other little travelers, and I write about it here.
So in this blog, you will find travel advice from a five-year-old, written by her mom. We also speak with other expat moms who live in some of the most exotic and fascinating destinations worldwide. They share their travel, parenting, and life stories in our global parenting interview series.
Thea and I hope that the content we share will inspire you to travel with kids, big and small, and discover the beautiful world that surrounds us!
With love, Thea and Vaiva
